The annual Veterans Day program was at the Rosalia Veterans Park Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. Pat Voge, President of the Rosalia Chamber of Commerce welcomed veterans and guests. Collin Pittmann, a student at Rosalia, opened the program by leading all in the Star Spangled Banner and later entertained the crowd with a patriotic medley.

Mayor Jim Stenhouse thanked the group for attending and also remembered moments from his service in Vietnam. The Rosalia Boy Scouts presented the United States Flag posting and retirement ceremony with their leaders Brad Hodges and Pat Brown.
Ken Hames of Rosalia received a certificate of thanks from the Chamber of Commerce for his upkeep of the Veterans park.
Sgt. Allen Ashworth, past member of the honor guard of the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, gave a speech reminding residents to thank the veterans for everyday freedoms.
Julie Pittmann, second vice regent of Washington DAR, presented the DAR wreath to veterans, thanking the 22 million veterans and their families for the sacrifices and service to this country. The gun salute was presented by the local VFW members. At the conclusion of the program, all veterans stood and were warmly thanked by the gathering for their service.
The Rosalia Ladies annual Christmas party will be Monday, Dec. 3, at Community Baptist Church beginning at 7 p.m. Door prizes, dessert, special music and a guest speaker are on the agenda. All area women are invited to the event sponsored by the church in Rosalia.
