MEETING NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Whitman County LEOFF I Board holds its regular meetings on the 4th Tuesday of January, February, March, October, November and December unless otherwise noted, at 10:00 a.m. in the Whitman County Commissioners’ Chambers located in the Whitman County Courthouse, 400 N. Palouse-Rock Lake Conservation District

2013 Elected Position Due Notice

The Palouse-Rock Lake Conservation District announces the opportunity to contribute to conservation and your community by serving on the Palouse-Rock Lake Conservation District Board of Supervisors.

Supervisors are public officials who direct the activities of the conservation district.

Although supervisors serve without compensation, they are eligible to be reimbursed for appropriate expenses.

Any Washington registered voter residing in the Palouse-Rock Lake Conservation District that would be interested in applying to be a candidate for this elected position must provide a completed application to the Palouse-Rock Lake Conservation District by the filing deadline of December 19, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.

Applicants may be required to own land or operate a farm.

Palouse-Rock Lake Conservation District

2013 Notice of Election

The Palouse-Rock Lake Conservation District adopted Resolution #18 at their November 20th, 2012 Board Meeting in order to hold an election for a board position on the Palouse-Rock Lake Conservation District Board.

The election will be held on January 16, 2013 at the St. John Community Building, 304 W. Front Street, in St. John Washington.

Polls open at 8:30 a.m.

and close at 2:00 p.m.

Registered voters who reside within the Conservation District boundary are eligible to vote.

Supervisors serve without compensation but are eligible to be reimbursed for appropriate expenses.

The Board of Supervisors provides guidance and direction, as well as set policy for the Conservation District.

Elections procedures are available at the district office or at the State Conservation Commission.

Absentee Ballots are available upon request for eligible voters by contacting the District Office prior to January 11th, 2013.

All ballots must be returned to the polling location by Election Day at 2:00 p.m.

The purpose of the public hearing is to review community development and housing needs, inform citizens of the availability of funds and eligible uses of the state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and receive comments on proposed activities, particularly from low- and moderate-income persons and persons residing in the Farmington area.

Up to $1,000,000 may be available to the Town of Farmington on a statewide competitive basis to fund public facility, community facility, economic development and affordable housing projects that principally benefit low- and moderate-income persons.

A draft application for the proposed project, including a water improvement project, will be available for review at Farmington City Hall on December 14th, 2012.

Comments may be submitted in writing to Farmington City Hall until December 21st, 2012.

The Farmington Community Center is handicap accessible.
