Thirteen wrestlers rolled south to Prescott Tuesday night for a combo meet. The group included 10 Bulldogs, three GP Vikings and one SJE grappler, Thomas Newton.
Coach Dennis Gransbery noted the Bulldogs are gaining on the grade front with 10 qualified , but only nine competed at Prescott.
Top match for the Bulldog was a 14-12 win by Brandon Arneson in the 160 class. Arneson trailed 4-9 going into the third round, tied it up and then cooked the win with a takedown in overtime.
Arron Arneson sustained two pins in the heavyweight class where he had to give up 40 pounds.
GP’s Kevin Knauff and Trapper Askins each booked a 1-1 night, and Josh Miller booked a win in the 170 class.
SJE’s Thomas Newton pegged two pins.
The wrestlers will roll to the Battle at Beasley, a new tourney slated for Dec. 28-29.
