Colton boys and the LaCrosse/Washtucna/-Kahlotus Tigercats remain on a collision course for the top spot in the SE 1B league after both teams added two wins before the pre-holiday break. Now tied at 5-0 at the top of the SE pack, the two leaders will collide at Colton when league play resumes Jan. 4.

Colton Friday booked a 59-46 win over Tekoa/Oakesdale at Oakesdale and then returned to their home gym Saturday to outpace Rosalia 69-48.
At the Oakesdale stop, the Wildcats led 35-14 over the Nighthawks at the half. Dalton Patchen hit a team high 28 points with 13 field goals, all inside the 3-point arch.
He totaled 20 rebounds for the Wildcats. Jake Straughan added 20 in the big Colton win with two three-point shots.
Max Mueller finished with 27 points to lead the ‘hawks. Mueller hit three from outside the three-point arch.
On their home boards Saturday, Colton ripped a 20-10 lead over Rosalia in the first quarter. The Spartans played even in the second quarter, but Colton upped the pace with 21 in the third. Jake Straughan hit a league high 29 points in the Saturday holiday home round.
Craig Nelson topped the Spartans with 17 points despite missing court time with three fouls in the first half.
LWK moved their season string to 7-0 with a 59-45 win over the Spartan team in the Friday round at Rosalia. Junior Darcy Stamper hit 25 on the Spartans’ court.
The LWK club hosted the TCP Jaguars Saturday night in a non-leaguer and pegged a 58-42 win with Jed Zimmer hitting 26 points.
The Jags arrived at LaCrosse with a 2-0 mark in the big-B version of the SE and tied for the league lead.
Garfield/Palouse bounced back from their first league loss in last Monday’s makeup with the LC Patriots to take two wins on the weekend.
Friday on the home court they posted at 48-29 win with Jesse Lopez hitting 14 and Tyler Thurman hitting 12. The Vikings hit 22 of 27 toss shots against the Indians.
Saturday at Tekoa, the Vikes booked a 69-23 win over a struggling Nighthawk club. Thurman hit 25 to lead the Vikings Saturday.
Coach Tim Coles’ club also put down the clamp on defense. They allowed their Highway 27 neighbors five points in the second half, all of it in the third quarter. Mueller again led the ‘hawks with 14.
Pomeroy now 3-1 in the league race, will travel to Oakesdale Friday for the lone league round during the holiday break.
Saturday at Richland, the Pirates pegged a 50-38 win over the host LC Patriots with Tyson Feider hitting 12 to lead a balanced Pirate attack. The Patriots had a five-point lead after the first half, but Pomeroy took the lead after the break and kept it to the tune of 20-11 in the last quarter.
Touchet Saturday hosted the Eagles with a better defense and booked a 66-37 win. Edgar Rincon and Coltar McKeown each hit four three-point shots against the Eagles and finished with 16.
Kaleb Simon hit three treys for SJE and finished with 16.
