Community generosity shines during holidays

Colfax social agencies, the fire department and the hospital auxiliary all reported community generosity made gift giving successful this holiday season.

Colfax volunteer firefighter Assistant Chief and Chaplain Ken McNaughton said firefighters served 300 children this year.

He said they had quite a demand for children up to two years old, so much so that after the first day of toy distribution, firefighters had do more shopping.

“None of this would be possible without the generosity of this community,” McNaughton said. “We’re just the tool.”
