After a key win over Pomeroy Saturday night, Gar-Pal took to their home floor again Tuesday night for a 59-52 victory over Colton.
Matt Holbrook led the team with 20 points while Jesse Lopez added 15 and Mitch Jamison and Wyatt Mitchell each had nine.
The Gar-Pal Vikings (9-3, 6-2 league) held off a late rally when Colton’s Dalton Patchen committed an over-the-back foul and Gar-Pal made two free throws to go up by five points. Colton called timeout and then turned the ball over on the next possession. Gar-Pal capitalized to go up by seven to seal the win.
The Vikings led at halftime, 28-19, before Colton’s Jake Straughan scored 20 points in the second half to tighten the game.
In the end, Straughan led Colton (7-4, 6-2 league) with 25 points while Patchen added 19 points and 20 rebounds.
"We were 10 for 28 from the free throw line and 0 for 13 for three-pointers," said Colton coach Seth Paine. "You’re not going to win many games shooting like that."
