IRS tax forms delayed

The production of some 2012 tax products, including the Form 1040 and the Instructions for Form 1040, has been impacted by the recent passage of the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012.

The Internal Revenue Service does not know when these products will become available to Whitman County Library or from the IRS website at IRS.gov. Information about this delay can be found at http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-statement-on-tax-legislation-recently-passed-by -Congress.

For convenience, the library website at http://www.whitco.lib.wa.us offers a helpful link to the IRS website where residents can monitor the progress of these forms and eventually print them. Once the forms are available, the library system expects to distribute basic forms from the Colfax Branch as they have in years past.
