Colfax wrestlers make final matches at Springdale tourney

Two Colfax wrestlers made the finals of the Springdale wrestling tournament Saturday, Jan. 12.

Thomas Newton of St. John placed second in the 138-pound class.

In the 120-pound weight class, Mitch Barney – who took second in state last year – lost in overtime to Liberty’s Kain Feltwell, who scored a two-point takedown to win the match.

“If Mitch continues to work hard and maintain his health, he should do well at districts in February,” said Colfax Coach Dennis Gransbery.

In the 138-pound class final match, Thomas Newton was pinned in the first round by Newport’s Austin Krogh.
