After two heavy wins over the weekend, the Colfax girls Tuesday night rolled to Reardan for an all-out battle with the NE dominators on their home court.
The Colfax defense swarms last Saturday night against Davenport. The Bulldog girls are now 8-2 in the season.The Bulldogs traded shots with the defending champs down to the final second, but Reardan, led by senior Kelsey Moos, survived with a 67-63 win.
Moos finished with 31 points and a solo run in the final minutes. She started the charge with a three-point shot to bump the last Colfax lead in what had been a seesaw game. Moos added two more buckets and four more toss shots to keep the hosts ahead. She also mixed in three steals.
Colfax answered with a jumper by Nicole Sheer and a put-back shot by Taylor Larsen. It came down to a 65-63 lead for the state champs with 26 seconds left, and Reardan kept the ball down to the last six ticks on the clock when Chantel Heath went to the toss line and hit both shots to cap the run by Moos.
The loss left the Bulldogs at 8-2 in the league race, but Coach Corey Baerlocher noted it signaled more Colfax-Reardan battles in the approaching playoff season. The Bulldogs have four more league games left with Northwest Christian slated to visit the Colfax court Friday night.

At St. George’s the Bulldogs rolled out a 40-19 lead after three quarters and Coach Baerlocher called out the reserves for the finish. Taylor Larsen and Amelie Bruya topped a long scoring list with 12 points each. Bruya booked a quad-three for her dozen points.
Alex Wert topped the Dragons with 11 points, half of the SG team’s total.
Saturday on their home court the Bulldogs again stacked an early pile of points, 41-14 at the half, in another power win. They led 18-6 after the first quarter.
The Gorilla girls, who arrived at Colfax with just two NE wins, turned the ball over 35 times against the Colfax defense. Nicole Sheer had seven steals off the Gorilla offense.
