McDonald’s has announced its list of 814 high school seniors who have been nominated to play in the 2013 McDonald’s All-AmericanGames.
It includes Colfax’s Brandon Gfeller and Pullman’s Corey Langerveld.
This year’s list has players from 39 states and the District of Columbia who have been selected by high school coaches, athletic directors, principals and members of the McDonald’s All-American Games Selection Committee. A total of 26 players come from Seattle, Western and Eastern Washington.
The final roster of 24 boys and 24 girls who will be selected to play in the 2013 Games will be announced on ESPNU Feb. 14.
“Seattle and both Eastern and Western Washington have a long history of elite basketball talent,” said David Santillanes, President of the McDonald’s Western Washington Owners Association. “The nomination of an astounding 26 local players signifies the hard work and dedication of our young student-athletes. They contribute to their schools, our communities and the game. I couldn’t be happier to see these young athletes be recognized for what they do.”
The 36th annual McDonald’s All-American boys’ game will be on Wednesday, April 3, in Chicago and will be broadcast on ESPN.
