Bettye R. Anderson
Bettye R. Anderson, 84, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at the Tekoa Care Center in Tekoa where she had her home for the past two years.
At her request, no services will be held. Kramer Funeral Home of Tekoa is handling the arrangements.
She was born June 25, 1928, at Ada, Okla., to Les and Nellie (Dabbs) Tompkins.
She attended schools in Oklahoma, graduating from high school in 1946.
Bettye moved to California in 1947 where she met and married Delmar Anderson Dec. 31, 1947.
Living in southern California, the couple raised their four children.
Mr. Anderson worked for B.F. Goodrich Company for 38 years.
Bettye worked for a swimming pool products company in La Puente for 12 years and later worked as a shift supervisor and inspector for a company manufacturing electronic chips for 15 years.
Bettye moved to Nevada in the 1990s and worked as a change person in a Las Vegas hotel-casino until retiring when she turned 72.
She moved to Washington following her retirement, living in Wenatchee for a few years.
She later moved to Lewiston prior to moving to Tekoa in 2010.
Bettye enjoyed playing sports, softball and volleyball, when she moved to California. She later bowled and played bingo.
Survivors include three daughters, Dana Bradley of Chelan, Carol Wickward of Clarkston and Jody Warner of Wylie, Texas; five grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Roy Rollf and Carl Rollf.
She was preceded in death by her husband Delmar Anderson in 1994 and a son Derrell Anderson.
