Auf Gehts to play at Dahmen

The Auf Gehts German band will give a free concert at Dahmen Barn from 1 to 3 p.m. March 3, the same day as the Uniontown Sausage feed. The band was started in 1965 when Paul Wadleigh organized a small band to play before performances of the Pullman Summer Palace in the WSU Livestock Pavilion. The band ceased playing for a while after Summer Palace moved to Daggy Hall.

The band was revived in 1987 when Wallis Friel recruited about eight members of the Pullman Community Band, now the Community Band of the Palouse, to play at a campaign dinner in Endicott. Since then, the band has continued to play at various community events.

Uniontown Sausage feed will be March 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Uniontown Community Building. The cost is $12 for adults, $6 for ages 6 to 12, and $2 for children under 6. The net proceeds go to maintain the Community Building.

Also, the 4 Names in a Hat barbershop quartet will be wandering minstrels at the Community Building. Customers can also purchase “to go” meals tickets at the window and proceed to the dining room to pick up their order without a wait.
