Serving Whitman County since 1877
Vacations of a short seasonal road south of Colfax and two road segments at Tilma east of Tekoa were approved March 4 by the county commissioners. The Cocking-Snyder Road is a short segment which intersects with the Parvin Road about a half mile east of Highway 195. The road at one time served a homestead in the area. Length of the road was .17 of a mile.
Also approved for vacation were segments of the North Hangman Road and the Stateline Road at Tilma. The Hangman Road segment was a short link between Highway 274 and the Old Catholic Cemetery Road at Tilma. The Stateline Road segment was actually in a parking lot in the area near the junction of Highway 274 and the Lovell Valley Road in the northeast corner of the county.
The two segments at Tilma totaled about 150 feet. The right-of-way on Stateline Road was listed at 30 feet, which is half of the normal width for a road at that time. The other half is on the Idaho side.
