Donald J. Stubbe

Donald J. Stubbe, 74, retired U.S. Air Force veteran, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at his home in Ellendale, Del. Services followed by firefighter honors were Friday, March 8, at the Ellendale Volunteer Fire Co.

Born in St. John to Alvis H. and Edna Russet Stubbe, he was raised in St. John and graduated from St. John High School with the class of 1956. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served 20 years before retiring in 1976 as a staff sergeant. He later worked as a deliveryman for Service Energy for many years. He was a member of the Ellendale Volunteer Fire Co. and the Ellendale VFW in Delaware as well as the Air Force Staff Sergeants Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Stubbe, in 2002.

Surviving are two brothers Darrel Stubbe, St. John, and Doug Stubbe, Colfax.
