Middle school students tour Olympia, Seattle

Endicott/St. John Middle school students in olympia

Sue Lynch, a middle school teacher from Endicott Middle School, and eight chaperones took 32 Endicott/St. John Middle School students on a field trip to Olympia, Seattle and Tacoma Feb. 18-20. In Seattle on the first day of the trip, they visited Pike Street Market and Underground Seattle. Tuesday, in Olympia they visited the Capitol building, then split into grade groups.

The seventh graders were greeted by Rep. Joe Schmick and stand-ins for Susan Fagan and Senator Mark Schoessler. The eighth graders were allowed to see the Supreme Court in action and then the whole group visited the law library.

They all visited Tacoma’s Point Defiance Zoo and Fort Nisqually, Tacoma Narrows Bridge and played on the shoreline. Wednesday, the first stop was the Washington State Museum.

The next stop was Safeco Field and a tour from the field to the newscaster’s desks.
