FSA signup period continues for two programs

Signup for the Direct & Counter-Cyclical Program (DCP) and Average Crop Revenue Election Program (ACRE) began Feb. 19. DCP signup runs through Aug. 2, and ACRE signup only goes through June 3.

Producers have the option to choose which program they would like to enroll their farm in. Producers previously enrolled in ACRE are not required to continue in ACRE. The 2013 provisions are the same as 2012 with no advance payments and similar signature requirements. The direct payment rates are the same as last year, however those rates could change depending on what happens in the event of federal sequestration.
