A new heating system has been installed in Tekoa’s former city shop.
The two 20-foot long circular radiant propane heaters replace a 1982 furnace which sat in one corner of the shop.
The project will be paid for through a Whitman County Economic Development grant for $26,775, while the city will contribute $8,925. Some of the city’s contribution will be in-kind, such as labor costs.
The former shop is now rented out as a business incubator. At present, Melton Fabrication and Millwrights is using the space, which moved in and began last year, renting the space initially for $125 per month.
