Garfield/Palouse swept St. John/Endicott Saturday at the Clarkston field with Jesse Lopez throwing a no-hitter in the first game. Lopez fanned 13 Eagle batters over seven innings
The Vikings scored four runs in the first inning on the way to a 7-0 shutout. Lopez also had two hits.
The second game shut down after five innings with a 17-6 win for the Vikings. Hunter Woltering, who held the Eagles to one run over the first three innings, took the win. He was helped by 12 Viking hits.
Colton booked a split at the Asotin tournament with a 7-4 win over Asotin JV and a 1-4 loss to Potlatch. The Wildcat-Logger matchup put the Washington 1B champs against the Idaho Class A champions.
Against the junior Panthers, Colton scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take command.
Justin Meyer and Carter Dahmen held the Panthers to just three hits. Meyer led Colton bats with two hits and four RBIs.
Colton and Potlatch took a 2-2 tie into the fifth inning before the Loggers scored twice on the way to a 5-2 win.
