Katie Largent, daughter of Gary and Lisa Largent, won the Colfax Distinguished Young Woman title Saturday night at the Colfax High School auditorium. Katie won four of the competition events in the DYW show. She was among 11 Colfax competitors named this year in the competition that had “The Incredibles” as the theme.
Jacee Thompson, daughter of Keith and Bridget Thompson, was named first runner-up and will represent Colfax in the Miss Palouse Empire Fair competition next September.
Nicole Sheer, daughter of Tom and Nancy Sheer, was named third runner-up.
Elizabeth Eakin, daughter of Keith and Julie Niehenke, was named Oakesdale DYW under the state program to allow junior girls to qualify for the state event in an at-large format.
Katie won the talent, self expression and interview segments of the judged competition. She also topped ticket sales for the event. For her talent presentation, she sang a medley of show tunes in a soprano-alto parody format.
Jacee won the fitness competition, and Nicole won the scholastic award which is determined by a professional panel of three judges.
Ali Shirley, daughter of Catherine Olson and Ron Shirley, won the spirit award.
Washington’s Distinguished Young Woman Nicole Renard performed her acrobatic bird dance as a special entertainment feature.
Colfax’s winners from last year, Lindsay Webber, Deanna Aeschliman and Casey Hall, presented their talent acts and a slide show of their DYW year.
