After another delay, owners say the Grillbilly Cafe, LaCrosse’s new restaurant, will open Friday, April 26 at 11 a.m.
Owner Dionne Evans said last week that they ran into more setbacks while remodeling the 100-year-old building.
“We had some unforeseen difficulties,” she said.
The cafe will open at 11 a.m. the first day.
The former Teapot Cafe has been under a major renovation for several months.
Evans also said she is working hard every day to make the restaurant unique. A grand opening will be at a later date.
She said the hours of the restaurant’s operation are adjusted to accommodate local customers.
Grillbilly will be open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the second and fourth Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
It will be closed Monday and Tuesday.
A large wood pellet barbecue will be in the back of the cafe which will be used to cook gourmet burgers, chicken and other barbecue specialties.
The cafe also will feature homemade pies made daily by Julie Roberts who gained notoriety for her baked pastries at the Dusty Cafe.
“It’ll be worth the wait,” Evans promised.
