Colfax, Pullman get Tree City honors

Colfax and Pullman were among 82 cities awarded Tree City status by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources in celebration of Arbor Day. Colfax has been designated a Tree City for the last eight years and Pullman for 16 years.

The DNR Tree City USA designation recognizes cities for their efforts in keeping urban forests healthy and vibrant.

To be acknowledged as a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation, a city must designate staff to care for trees, appoint a citizen tree board, establish a tree ordinance and spend at least $2 per capita on tree care and celebrate Arbor Day.
