Gar-Pal students win Envirothon

A team from Gar-Pal High School took first place at the Whitman County Regional Envirothon April 16 at Klemgard Park.

Captain Mitch Jamison and teammates Jacob Arlt, Libby Akin, Gabe Cocking and Hunter Woltering will advance to the state competition next month in Anatone.

This one-day event encouraged students to exercise their problem-solving skills as they rotated through stations including soils and land use, aquatic ecology, forestry, wildlife, current natural resource issues and oral presentation on current natural resource issues.
