Sighting in Winona? County asked to support Stevens County bid for regular wolf reports

Stevens County commissioners asked for support from Whitman County and others in pursuit of a request to be included in the state’s data program for wolves that are being collared and tracked in eastern Washington.

In an April 22 letter to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Stevens County officials said they are interested in receiving the twice-daily updates via email on all the collared wolves in their region.

The letter also said that after review of the state code about public information, the state is required to release the information to the county.
