Colfax track team, which rolled out another impressive day in NE competition at Davenport Tuesday, will make their lone home appearance at Colfax next Tuesday. The Bulldogs have been on the road for most of the season with other NE league schools and Freeman providing centralized meet sites. Also, the rough surface of the aging Colfax track has bumped it down on the league site selection list.
Colfax will compete here after rolling to the big Riverside Invitational meet Saturday.
Tuesday at Davenport, the Bulldogs again stacked up a host of first-place finishes and looked like they might win both sides of a long meet at Davenport. Last event of the meet went off close to the 8 p.m. hour.
Bailey Mackleit booked a personal best with a 16.8 in the 100-meter hurdles, and she won the 300 with a 51.3 time.
Taylor Cai also booked a personal best with a 103-5 win in the javelin.
Sheer picked up another win in the shot put with a 34-0.
The Bulldog girls relay team won the 4 X 100 with a 52.0 and 4 X 200 with a 1:51.4. Amelie Bruya, Mackleit, Leah Heiner and Nicole Sheer ran on the team.
Scout Cai, who has been stacking up points in her freshman season, was sidelined Tuesday from her slot on the relay team because of an injury. Cai has also been bagging wins for the Bulldogs in the high jump and pole vault.
Morgan Lord and Cacey Hall placed one-two in the vault with Cai out of action. Lord cleared 7-0 to break a tie after both cleared 6-6.
On the boys’ side, Austin Corean clocked an 11.06 to win the 100 sprint. Skylar Simonson, upped his best mark in the pole vault at 11-6. Sam Dailey placed third in the vault with 10-0.
Josh Brown won the discus with a sling of just under 120.
