St. John
The wind that came in Saturday didn’t dampen the spirits of St. John and all the events. The hog jog started at 8:3O a.m. and had a good turn out; the FFA and 4H kids did a great job of showing. The parade kicked off at noon with the pharmacy girls as grand marshall while the SJE band had a YMCA theme.
The 17th annual Pig Putt was Sunday. Tiff and Thomas Organ and Missy and Kevin Repp got low net, and Pat and Drew Gordon and Jerry and Tate Shauble got low gross.
FFA and 4H exhibitors will have pork, lamb and beef for sale. You can call Mac or Karen Mills to buy or support the kids.
The annual photo contest for the St. John telephone book cover is still open until June 1.
Kobi (Colyar), Russ and Maxwell Winans flew in from California for stock show weekend. While here a baby shower was held for Kobi and Maxwell at the Methodist Church. Her sister Kimmy flew in from Philadelphia to attend. This is their first child. Grandparents are Dale and Marrion Bushnell, Skip and Angel Colyar, and Carrie Colyar, all of St. John.
St. John fire volunteers got up early Friday to clean the streets for the parade and Mayor K.B Trunky and Councilman Skip Colyar placed new flags downtown.
