Emergency management: Tensfeld gets county job offer

The Whitman County commissioners on Monday morning approved offering Bill Tensfeld the position of Emergency Management/ Communications Director.

Tensfeld, if he accepts the position, will replace Fran Martin who is retiring.

Commissioner Dean Kinzer said there were three close candidates.

“Each one had real assets,” Kinzer said. “We chose the candidate with the skills and ability for this job. I think we’ll be pleased.”

Tensfeld is the Rosalia Fire Chief and ran for county commissioner last year, but was defeated by Art Swannack.
