Chief will talk at league lunch
Final Pullman League of Women Voters brown bag speaker before the summer will be Thursday, May 16, 12:10 to 1 p.m. at the Community Congregational Church, 525 Campus Street. Police Chief Gary Jenkins will talk about public safety issues including the use of security cameras and other security risks such as deaths and grave injuries from binge drinking. Seeking teen
volunteers
Teens interested in volunteering for Neill Public Library’s summer reading program are invited to join the library’s Tuesday Teens Group and assist with programs, events and activities in June and July.
Training will be held at Neill Public Library May 16 beginning at 4 p.m. in Hecht Meeting Room. For more information contact Youth Services Librarian Kathleen Ahern.

Avery Mae Hallett was born May 2, 2013, at Providence St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia to Chris and Kelly Hallett of Olympia. She weighed seven pounds, one ounce. Grandparents are Mike and Tammy Brower of Olympia, and Scott and Sue Hallett of Colfax. Great-grandmother is Shirley Mae Sellers, also of Colfax.

Nida, Arayna Elizabeth, born April 25 at six pounds, nine ounces, first child to Shane and Rebecca Nida of Lewiston. Paternal grandparents are Todd and Mary Lee Nida of Lewiston. Maternal grandparents are Charles and Carrie Coen of Pullman.
Farlow, Sapphire Dawn and Shaydon Franklin, born April 29 at five pounds, five ounces, and four pounds, 15 ounces, first children to Tom and Brandt Farlow of Moscow, Idaho. Paternal grandparents are Robert and Janine Farlow of Jacksonville, Fla. Maternal grandparents are Maureen Freeland of Boise, Idaho, and the late Stanley P. Cargo.
WGC annual meet
Annual meeting of the Washington Grain Commission will be May 22-23 in the Commission Conference Room, 2702 W. Sunset Blvd., Ste A, Spokane. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, and reconvene at 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 23. The public is invited to attend.
