Colton baseball takes third in state

With a team of four returning starters, three players who have never played high school baseball and two eighth-graders, Colton took third in state.

Playing at University High School in Spokane Saturday, May 18, Colton beat Odessa-Harrington 6-5 in the morning followed by a 2-1 loss to league rival Liberty Christian to give them the third-place finish.

Against the Patriots in the state semifinal game, Jordan Druffel pitched the entire seven innings, allowing seven scattered hits as Liberty Christian scored one run in the third inning and one run in the fourth – on an infield single.
