Enormous help

The article about our daughter, Rayna Charles, was wonderful (May 16, Gazette).

She is getting very excited about her People-to-People trip to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Wales and England. She will be spending 19 days as a Student Ambassador representing the United States as well as Whitman County even though she is actually traveling with a group from the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area.

We would not have been very successful with the fund raising raffle we held without the enormous help of Mike Day (a friend and extended family member) who gathered some tremendous prizes from his vast list of generous contacts and his excellent salesmanship skills. I mentioned to Mike that I might try to put together a raffle and asked if he would help sell tickets and a few days later, he showed up with the start of a great list of prizes! Then he got busy selling tickets! Now he is helping to sell “Rayna’s Recipes to a Celtic Heritage Tour 2013,” the cookbook she is also selling to earn some extra money for her trip.

Personally, I don’t know what the Town of Rosalia or the Rosalia School would do without Mike Day. No matter what the project is, no matter what the organizations is, no matter what needs to be done, all you have to do is ask Mike (if he hasn’t already volunteered) and the job will get done. Mike Day is truly a man with a great and generous heart and a friend to all!
