Reading program starts

St. John

Thirty-five youngsters and 15 teens and adults had a boat load of fun at the first St. John Summer Reading. The theme was pirates with lots of seafaring fun. Summer Reading meets at 1 p.m. every Wednesday in St. John.

Second semester awards at St. John elementary:

Honor Roll: fourth Grade, Cale Crider, Roxy Dickerson, Isabel Shepherd, Colby Swannack, Ellie Tollett, Wyatt Walker; fifth Grade, Chloe Barnmes, Drew Brewer, Erik Hughes, Rachel Larsen, Jonathan Logen, Morgan Lowe, Eliza Lundberg, Gavin Parrish, Brady Pitts, Maggie Smith, Owen Swannack and Ryan Willson.

Connor Hergert won first place in Junior Registered trap shooting at the Endicott Gun Club. This was his first time shooting in this event. Connor will be a seventh grader this year in Endicott. He is the son of Brad and Shani Hergert.

Isaiah David Risner was born May 2, 2013. Parents are Toby and Colene Risner of Whispering Pines, N.C. He joins Arin, Eli, Ella and Ava. Grandparents are Tina Smith of St. John, and Ray and Chris Risner of Castle Rock.
