Serving Whitman County since 1877
Gross revenue for the 17th edition of Relay for Life at the Colfax High School track Friday and Saturday totaled approximately $32,000. Event chair Coyzet Lueck said the relay event will have some bills to pay and the final earnings report for the event is expected to be available later in the week.
Relay for Life had 14 teams in the competition this year with 185 participants registered. Also attending were cancer survivors and care givers and other residents from Colfax and around the county. A survivors and care givers lap ended with the release of balloons carried by the two groups.
Luminary sales for the event totaled about 600 in number.
Lueck said she and other committee members believe the participation level was down this year compared to previous relays.
