Pomeroy wins seventh straight Cup

Pomeroy swimmers rolled home from Colfax late Saturday with the Cluckey Cup for the seventh straight year after posting a strong win in the championship meet Saturday at Colfax.

The Pomeroy swimmers stacked up 498.5 points for the team win, a margin of more than 215 over second-place Pullman.

The two - hour awards ceremony capped a day of competition for 208 swimmers entered from seven teams in the summer’s novice competition.

Two Pomeroy girls, Kacey Halbert and Ireland Mayfield, tied with 40 points each for the most points trophy for girls in the top three age classes.
