Pataha Mill sets
Gospel concert
Pataha Flour Mill near Pomeroy will host its annual “Hometown Revival” Old-time Gospel Sing Aug. 25, at 3 p.m. The event features a wide variety of vocalists and instrumentalists from around the region presenting favorite Gospel songs and rousing community singing.
Ted and Annie Cook from Lewiston will emcee the program.
Also performing will be Dr. Launy and Sug Schwartzman, Paul and Judy Guenther and others from the Lewiston area, as well as from the Walla Walla Valley.
Juyne Bowles of Pomeroy will play the Mill’s Wurlitzer organ. A share-a-meal for all will follow the program, and an offering will be taken for the continued preservation of the Mill, according to mill director Jon Van Vogt.

Thrifty Grandmothers
The August meeting was attended by 22 members, one newly installed member and two guests. Thank yous were read from past recipients of scholarships and other donations.
Funds approved were $200 to a resident who transports elderly and disabled persons to shopping, meetings, ect., and $500 to Community Action for school supplies for Colfax students.
Members are reminded of the Chamber Luncheon Aug. 22 at noon at Hill Ray.
Bag Sale for clothing only will be Friday and Saturday this week.

ART
Fine arts faculty exhibition will be at the WSU museum of art Aug. 12 until Sept. 14. A reception will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 22 in the museum gallery. The biennial exhibition is an opportunity for students to see their mentors’ skills and theories put to practice. Gallery hours are 10 to 4 p.m. Monday-Saturday. It is open until 7 p.m. Thursdays and closed Sundays.
Workz by Robert S. Newman, a second generation abstract expressionist, will be on display from Aug. 22 to Oct. 12 at the University of Idaho’s Pritchard Gallery on S. Main in Moscow. Gallery hours are 10 to 6 Tuesday through Saturday, and 10 to 6 Sunday.
