St. John slates love date

St. John

The St. John Fall in Love with St. John committee has set the date of Sept. 14 when all the downtown businesses will be open. There will be specials at all the business, plus games, contests and prizes to be won. This year they are adding a ‘town wide yard sale” with sales throughout the town. Sunday at 3:30 a.m. the St. John and Lamont fire departments were called out to a grain fire at the Eric Glorifield place. By the time the crews arrived the fire was under control.

A tween party at the St. John Library Aug. 21, at noon will be for kids grade four through eight. There will be crafts, Wii games, pizza, soda and treats. The library will be closed to the public for this event.

Yard of the month honor went to Tom and Sandy Wallace at 301 S. Main St. in St. John.

Students named to the EWU deans list included Blake Bailey, Alyssa Fitzgerald, Warren Miller, Benjamin Salzman, Kaleb Simon, Jason Swannack and Sawna Warerhime.
