Third Daniel Lazcano trial

The next trial of Daniel Lazcano will be moved to another county after Judge David Frazier Friday ruled seating a panel of impartial jurors for a third trial would be a difficult task in Whitman County.

The judge told Prosecutor Denis Tracy and Defense Attorney Eric Christianson that the court adminstrator had already been making calls to find an available courtroom for the trial in another county.

Friday’s session followed the judge’s rejection of a plea bargain agreement July 19 in which Daniel Lazcano would have admitted to a charge of second-degree manslaughter and be sentenced to 30 month...
