Bulldogs netters will host Pullman

Colfax volleyball players will host Pullman teams tonight in a non-league match after traveling to Shadle Park last Thursday and topping the Greater Spokane League team in three games.

Colfax Coach Sue Doering said the three-game sweep at Shadle was a surprise. She felt the Bulldogs could carve out a win, but she anticipated an extended battle.

Colfax took the win with top hitter Taylor Larsen out of the lineup on a recruiting trip.

Line score for the win at Shadle was 25-16 27-25 and 25-18.

Colfax serving and strong defense were big parts of the win. In the close middle game, the Bulldogs led for most of the way, but Shadle bounced back for a 25-24 lead.

Colfax tied it a 25-25, and Nicole Sheer scored the next two points on a kill and a block.

Coach Doering said she expects Pullman to put a tougher lineup on the court tonight for the non-leaguer. The `hounds bowed to both Colfax and St.John/Endicott at the Bulldog jamboree here two weeks ago.
