A veteran team of SJE girls Saturday placed second among an entry of big school teams Saturday in the Asotin Invitational run at Chief Timothy Park on the Snake River.
Lewiston’s team won the meet with a 42-point score led by Shevaugn Ames with a time of 16:34.
SJE finished with 49 points with Clarkston in third with 74, 35 back of the Eagles
Heather Siegel, one of four seniors for the Eagles, led the team with 18:04 for fifth place. Other finishers for SJE were Jordan Porubek sixth at 18:18, Shania Bailey 9th at 18:42, Sami Bailey 17th at 19:59, Jade Porubek., 23rd 20:36, and Annie Bailey, 27th at 21:22.
Chandler Tiegen of Asotin won the boys race with a 13:56 on the 2.6 mile course. Kaleb Kolb was 33rd for the Eagles at 17:141 and Jacob Blakely finished 56th at 20:11.
The Eagles will head for Plantes Ferry Saturday for their next run.
Colfax runners placing at the INE league run at Reardan Tuesday were Tim Cornelius at 20:01, Doug Wilson at 23:55, Zach Williams at 28:49, and Thuc Nguyen at 31:21.
Times for junior high runners on the short course were Levi Kellogg 12:17, Cassidy Shindler 15:37, Tayma Vanek 13:01, and Amy Kellogg 16:27.
