Zoning hearing set for Pullman worship center

If permits are approved, an Ashram Temple Worship Center will be built at 441 Country Club Road in Pullman.

According to Whitman County Planner Alan Thomson, the 1,200-square-foot residence would contain two bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen, along with a 5,400-square-foot common area that can hold between 40 to 50 people.

The center will be for the East Indian Hindu religion, which has a guru as its leader, according to Thomson.

The project will be considered for a conditional use permit at a public hearing Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Public Service Building auditorium in Colfax. The county has...
