Colfax volleyball players moved their win streak to 10-0 Tuesday night with a four-game win at Genesee. The host Bulldogs, who stood at 10-3 before the match, took the first game, but Colfax took a 27-25 win the the second game on the way to the match win.
Colfax then settled down and took the last two games on solid wins, 25-18 and 25-14.
Nicole Sheer, who booked a 20-20 serving night, was credited with being at the line when Colfax turned the match around with a nine-point rally in the second game. The charge erased an 18-12 lead posted by Genesee after they had already booked a win in the first game.
Sheer also bolstered the front line attack with 11 kills with two blocks.
Taylor Larsen hit 19 kills against Genesee and booked 14 digs. She also had two service aces.
Tuesday’s trip to Genesee followed four-match run Saturday for the title at the Okanogan tourney. The Colfax team departed Friday after school for the long trip north and returned late Saturday after the title win.
Okanogan featured two pools of four teams each.
The Bulldogs advanced to the championship match after defeating Ephrata, Okanogan and Goldendale to top their pool play. Colfax played against Davenport in the title round.
Davenport took a close first game of the title match, and the Bulldog game back to take the last three.
Colfax topped Pullman in three games last Thursday on the Bulldogs’ court. The Bulldogs dominated Pullman in the first two games. Amara Huber had a run of six serve points in the first game to set the pace for Colfax.
The ‘hounds came back to lead early in the third game. Taylor Larsen, who finished with five aces, turned the third game around when she hit a string of aces to put Colfax in front.
Larsen had 12 kills and four blocks in the match.
Line score for the Pullman win was 25-13, 25-15 and 25-18.
