Colfax grads from 1963 mark 50-year reunion

Colfax High School Class of 1963 celebrated its 50-year reunion Sept. 13-15 with a series of events.

Some members toured the Perkins House that Friday morning, and Bob Heilsberg organized golf at the Colfax course.

Classmates gathered at the golf club that evening for visiting and pizza.

Saturday morning they toured Lower Granite Dam, followed by lunch at the Boyer Marina Restaurant operated by classmates David and Linda Baird Peterson.

Saturday’s evening dinner was at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall, known to many of the group as St. John’s Academy.

The dinner was catered by Memorable Events.

A brief memorial for deceased members was conducted by Lynn Nelson Krueger and Jim Krouse with music provided by Krouse and Susan Brown Songer.

Susan Songer also played violin music as classmates visited before dinner.

On Sunday morning, some classmates attended Plymouth Congregational-UCC Church services led by Pastor Lynn Nelson, and brunch was hosted by Carol Hochsprung and her brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Charli Hochsprung. For those who could stay longer, the visiting continued at lunch, hosted by Jerry and Donna Colyar Kincaid.

A large reunion committee was organized by Susan Russell, Claudia Forrey Disend, and Peggy DeVries. Other classmates organized individual events.
