MCT will present

Crusoe at Empire

Missoula Children’s Theatre will present “The Amazing Adventures of Robinson Crusoe” with a cast of local students at the Tekoa Empire Theatre Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 26 at 2 p. m. Ticket prices are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $5 for students.

Watercolor show

stars at Dahmen

Each year Artisans at the Dahmen Barn features an exhibit and sale of original watercolor paintings by members of the Palouse Watercolor Socius. This year the exhibit runs from Oct. 3-27 with an opening reception scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. The show will offer paintings in a variety of sizes and price ranges.

Palouse Watercolor Socius PWS was formed in 1974 by seven students of Alfred Dunn at the University of Idaho. Of the original group, Kay Montgomery and Linda Wallace remain active members.

Concert series

slated at Neill

A free concert series will be at Neill Public Library Oct. 3, Oct. 17 and Oct. 24 at 5:30 p.m. in the Hecht Meeting Room.

Local musicians Patrick Adams, Gary Scheer and Keri LeForce will play a mix of classic rock, country, and jazz Oct. 3. The three members have played with other area music groups including Hog Heaven Big Band, Off Leash and Soulstice.

British Art Songs will be performed Oct. 17 by local musicians Juliana M. Witt and Brian Carter. Juliana is a classically-trained pianist, and Brian is a WSU music instructor.

Classical Guitarist Peter Fletcher will perform Oct. 24 as part of his tour for the release of his new CD this fall. Major works on the concert program will include Bach’s Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring and the Suite Compostelana by Federico Mompou.

Athenaeum’s October meeting and homecoming tea will be at The Courtyard in Colfax Friday, Oct. 4. The special time for this meeting is 1:30 p.m.

Library Friends

Friends of Whitman County Library have postponed their regularly scheduled meeting date to Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. in the Colfax Library. This meeting is open to all members and the community. For more information, contact Wanda Alderman.

The WSU School of Music will present the 28th annual vocal extravaganza at 8 p.m. Oct. 11 in the Bryan Hall Theatre as part of Dad’s Weekend events. The Madrigal/Chamber Singers, University Singers, WSU Concert Choir, Opera Workshop, and VoJazz will perform. Tickets will be available Oct. 9, Oct. 10 and Oct. 11 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the lobby of Kimbrough Music building and in Bryan Hall beginning at 6 p.m.
