Rosalia fall festival

Contests, a Halloween parade and other events will be part of the Rosalia Fall Festival Saturday. The event will be presented by the Rosalia Chamber of Commerce with other groups taking part.

A vendor and craft fair will start at Pinewood Cottage at 9 a.m. The craft fair usually brings in 10 to 12 vendors.

Entries for the pie baking contest can be delivered to the Texaco Station. After the pies are judged, slices of pie with be offered.

Pumpkin painting begins at 10 a.m. on the lot next to Rosalia Coffee. Also at 10, a treasure truck will be located next to the post office. The truck will be loaded with lentils and youngsters can attempt to find prizes buried in the load.

The Halloween costume parade will be on Main Street at 11 a.m. Entrants are asked to line up at the former Lowry Building, and prizes will be awarded for the top three costumes after judging.

A hot dog eating contest, sponsored by the Rosalia Boosters, will be at the community building. Also, hot dog meals will be available. The awards ceremony for the events will be at 2 p.m.

All-day events will include scarecrow creations at Smith’s Country Store behind the library, chalk drawings at Pat’s Books, family pictures and a kids’ craft project at Pinewood Cottage.

Cocoa will be given to youngsters who obtain a passport ticket from a local vendor and collect six punches.
