Transient found in library building

A 63-year-old woman was taken into protective custody Oct. 9 after she was found sleeping in the former Hamilton Drug Building, the new annex to the Colfax branch of the county library. Police early that day responded to a report of the woman loitering at Cougar Food Mart. She declined to accept arrangements which were made for housing and was later found sleeping in the Hamilton building which had been left unlocked. She was taken to the Whitman Hospital and Medical Center.
