Direct seeders plan first meeting

The first fall meeting of Colfax Direct Seeders will be at the Methodist Church meeting room at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30.

The hosted breakfast is sponsored by Columbia Bank of Colfax and will be prepared by the Top Notch Café. Featured speakers will be Dr. Dave Huggins, soil scientist with the USDA Agricultural Research Service of WSU, and Guy Swanson, owner of Exactrix, a farm equipment manufacturer in Spokane.

Huggins will share the latest information on fertilizer management technology. Swanson will discuss application of anhydrous fertilizer on local farms with the Extactrix system.

Certified Crop Advisor credits for the American Society of Agronomy have been applied for, and anyone is invited to attend the meeting. Bring your questions on fertilizer management.

For more information, contact Dan Harwood.

Direct Seeders meet in Colfax six times per year.
