First Fall Family Carnival set in Tekoa Saturday

The Healthy Tekoa Coalition (HTC) will present the first annual Fall Family Carnival Saturday, Oct. 19, from 3-5 p.m. at Tekoa grade school.

The carnival will include 17 activity tables with a fish pond, spinning wheel, dolphin ring toss, cupcake walk, bobbing for apples and face-painting.

There will also be contests for coloring, costume and bubble gum-blowing.

The event is supported by 16 businesses in Tekoa, and is part of HTC’s strategic plan to promote healthy, positive choices in local youth by working together to reduce substance abuse.

The carnival requires an adult for kids to enter.

HTC plans 10 activities throughout the year, which so far have included two free family movies and a swim night. Next month it will sponsor “Art in the Heart,” a free family arts and crafts making workshop.
