Wildcats win in five at St. John-Endicott

Colton prevailed Tuesday in a matchup of two power clubs in the SE net race at St. John. The Wildcats pulled it out with a 15-11 win in the decider game of a defensive battle.

Both teams made errors in the collision match and a lot of the result hinged on defense.

The match went to 2-2 in the first four games after St. John/Endicott nipped a 27-25 win in game four to tie it up at 2-2.

Winnie Schulteis had 55 assists for the Wildcats, and Jenna and Zoe Moser combined for 50 kills in the endurance run.

Line scoroe for the Colton match win was 21-25, 27-25 25-23, 25-27 and 15-11.

The Eagles hosted Colton after posting at three-game win in the Thursday round at Rosalia, 25-7, 25-11 and 25-9.

Sierra McCanna had 13 assists and put two three acres for the Eagles at Rosalia. Emily Jones hit nine kills against the Sparatans, and Gracie Dickerson had eight digs.

MacKenzie Reddish hit five kills for the Spartans, and Stacey Carrothers had three digs.

Colton will host Touchet in tonight’s league round and then host Tekoa/Oakesdales in a battle of the league leaders next Tuesday.

Tekoa/Oakesdale, now 10-1, will host Rosalia in toght’s round before making the trip to Colton Tuesday.

St. John will face the Nighthawks in the last round of league play, Oct. 29 at St. John.

Playoff competition will begin with play-in matches Nov. 4. followed by the districrounds Nov. 6 & 9.
