Gar-Pal FFA land judging winners

The Garfield Palouse FFA teams placed second and third at state competition near the Tri-Cities on Oct. 23.

Fifteen schools attended the competition with more than 23 teams competing.

The year started with 59 teams, and only the best competed at the state competition.

Garfield-Palouse team one consisting of Lexi Rodriguez, Matt Dymkoski, Mitch Jamison, Hunter Woltering and Jacob Arlt placed second.

Team two took third place with Wyatt Griner, Mitch Dymkoski, Ashley Swall, Daniel Arlt and Holly Brown.

Joseph Wilcomb competed as an alternate and placed in the top 50 percent.

Lexi Rodriguez placed as the third high individual, Holly Brown was the sixth and freshman Daniel Arlt placed tenth.

The teams went to Kennewick on Tuesday night with their FFA Advisor, Mike Patrick, and stayed in a hotel in preparation for the early competition the next morning.
