Art and Colene Sager spent last week in Kona, Hawaii, with Art’s brother and wife, Floyd and Linda Sager from Boise. The Sagers flew their plane to Boise so that the two couples could travel together on the airline. Saturday, on their way home from Boise, Art and Colene stopped in Midvale, Idaho, and visited Colene’s 98 year old aunt and her cousin and wife who care for the aunt. Colene’s aunt still lives in the farm home where she has lived all her married life.
David and Phyllis Stueckle recently spent a week on the other side of the mountains. They spent four days with their daughter Karen Light’s family in Portland where they attended granddaughter Emmaly Light’s Cleveland High School concert. From Portland, they went to a resort in Bend, Oregon, for several days before returning home.
Barb Wollstein, Lacey, spent several days helping her mother Helen Appel clean up her yard for winter. Joining them on several days were Susan Lynch, Pullman, and Caroline Kunkel, Pullman.
Helen and Dick Appel attended the Washington State Sheep Producers Convention in Ritzville last Thursday through Sunday. They both serve on the board. Helen also is president of the Washington State Woolgrowers Auxiliary which had their annual meeting at the convention. Also attending were Eric, Shannon, Sarah, Kyle and Sidney Appel. Sarah was competing in the Junior Division of the Make It With Wool contest. Sarah is the state winner and will be going to Charleston, S.C., in January.
Monday morning, Graham BeDell, son of Angela and Brian Broeckel, was one of eight members of the local FFA to fly to Louisville, Ky., to spend a week at the National FFA Convention. They are scheduled to return home Saturday.
Last weekend, Larry and Di Brink took three days to fly to Las Vegas to visit with their son Tom. While in Vegas, they attended the rodeo one evening.
Steve and Carol Moore recently spent ten days traveling through New England. They went through the states of Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine and Rhode Island. Some of the highlights of their trip included the gorgeous fall foliage, the Freedom Trail in Boston where they saw the old North Church, Nantucket, Cape Cod, two days in Concord where they visited the Minute Man Park, Norman Rockwell’s Studio and paid a visit to Harvard University.
Kim and Cindy Pitts were in Spokane Sunday to watch grandsons Rafe and Tate participate in the Monster Dash. During the event, all the children in their Halloween costumes marched in a parade for the viewing enjoyment of the crowd. The Monster Dash was a small course that they ran and each participant received a bag of candy as they crossed the finish line.
