Direct seeders slate research reports

The Colfax Direct Seeders will gather in the Colfax Methodist Church meeting room at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20. A hosted breakfast sponsored by Northwest Farm Credit of Colfax will be prepared by the Top Notch Café of Colfax.

Featured speaker Dr. Jim Harsh, soil scientist and chairman of the Crops and Soil Science Department of WSU, will share his research on aluminum toxicity in the soil and factors related to the drop of soil pH. Joining him will be Randy Emtman, partner in the Emtman family farm near Valleyford south of Spokane. Randy will share his research comparing varieties of canola this year and his direct seed system.
