Book signing

at Dahmen Barn

Carole Simon-Smolinski from Lewiston and illustrator Connie McLeod from Clarkston will sign copies of “Timothy Nolan’s Idaho 1862-1890” Saturday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown.

The book features several scholarly accounts of adventures and events in and around Lewiston, Idaho, from the Gold Rush to statehood. The book, as well as Connie’s original illustrations and cards of the illustrations, will be available for purchase at The Shop at the Barn.

Looking back over his 28 years in the territory where he arrived as a prospective miner, Nolan wrote his reminiscences in 1890.

By presenting the history in the voice of someone who lived through those years, Simon-Smolinski recounts the events and describes the people and places in a highly readable, fast paced, first person interpretation. Complementing and completing the narrative are illustrations by McLeod along with historic regional photographs and a map.
